On the morning of November 16, 2008, Qubin, the mayor of Shahe City, announced the launch of the fourth large-scale chimney blasting operation in the city this year. At the blasting launch ceremony that day, 10 chimneys representing backward production capacity were blasted on site, and the remaining 30 chimneys will be demolished in turn in the next few days. Hou Zhikui, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the provincial people's Congress, and municipal leaders Song Wen, Ju Chaowu, Zhang Yanping attended the blasting ceremony

Shahe City is one of the key counties and cities for energy conservation and emission reduction determined by the provincial turning government. In order to ensure the completion of the task of energy conservation and emission reduction and accelerate the promotion of industrial adjustment and upgrading, the Shahe municipal Party committee and government decided to use three years to shut down and eliminate all 194 small glass production lines with a daily melting capacity of less than 100 tons, with an obvious trend of "decentralization". Since May, 2007, the city has carried out five large-scale chimney centralized blasting activities, closed and eliminated 93 backward glass production lines and blasted 93 chimneys. This blasting is the fourth centralized blasting in the city since this year. It is planned to blast 40 chimneys and close 40 backward glass production lines

with the continuous elimination of backward production capacity, Shahe City has made significant progress in energy conservation and emission reduction. From January to October this year, the city has reduced COD emissions by 3430 tons, underground engineering waterproof technical specification GB 50108 ⑵ 001 has reduced sulfur dioxide emissions by 2480 tons, and the energy consumption of 10000 yuan of industrial added value has decreased by 7.62% year-on-year. It is expected that by the end of this year, the city will achieve 4850.7 tons of COD emission reduction and 3659.7 tons of sulfur dioxide emission reduction, and will complete 353.0% and 213.0% of the annual tasks respectively
